Like Venus from the sea, the Cameo was born from a shell, under the expertr hands of the artists of Torre del Greco (a town close to Naples, that lays on the slopes of the Mt. Vesuvius). Thanks to a delicate carving tecnique, totally handmade, the artists succeded in taking advantage of the natural chromatic variation of the shell.
